Rotate PDF

Fix sideways or upside-down scanned pages and save the PDF the right way up.

How to rotate PDF pages

  1. Choose your PDF.
  2. Pick the direction: 90° clockwise, 180°, or 90° anticlockwise.
  3. Rotate every page, or only selected pages such as 2, 5-7.
  4. Download the rotated PDF. Your original file isn't changed.

Lossless rotation

Each PDF page has an orientation setting. This tool changes that setting by 90°, 180° or 270°, adding to any rotation the page already has, rather than redrawing the page. So text stays selectable, scans keep their full resolution, links and form fields keep working, and the file size barely changes. Rotating a page four times by 90° brings it back to where it started.

Example: fixing a scan

A 12-page scan has pages 3 and 7 upside down and page 10 sideways (top on the left). Choose 180°, Selected pages, type 3, 7 and download. Then open that file, choose 90° →, type 10 and download again.

Tips

  • Not sure which pages are wrong? Organize PDF shows thumbnails, and lets you rotate, reorder and delete pages in one go.
  • Photos that come out sideways in a PDF are usually fixed by making the PDF with Image to PDF, which reads the phone's rotation data.

Frequently asked questions

Will it reduce quality?

No. Rotation only changes the page's orientation setting. Content isn't re-compressed or redrawn.

Can I rotate just one page?

Yes. Choose 'Selected pages' and enter the page number, or several such as 2, 5-7.

Why does my PDF look rotated in one app but not another?

The rotation is saved as the standard page setting that every PDF viewer follows, so after rotating here it opens the same way everywhere.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser.
