Frequently asked questions

How is exact age calculated?

We count the whole months from your date of birth to the chosen date, then the remaining days. Twelve months make a year. If your birthday falls on a day that does not exist in a month (for example the 31st), that month's last day is used.

How do I check my age on a specific date, like an exam cut-off?

Change the 'Age on' date to the cut-off date in the notification (for example 1 January or 1 August of the exam year). The result shows your exact age on that date for eligibility checks.

What if I was born on 29 February?

In non-leap years this calculator treats 28 February as your birthday. Some official rules use 1 March instead, so check the specific rule if it matters legally.

Is my date of birth stored anywhere?

No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
