Word Counter
Count words and characters instantly as you type, in English or any Indian language.
What it counts
- Words: groups of letters or numbers separated by spaces.
- Characters: what you see as letters, so Hindi conjuncts such as न + म + स् + ते are counted like a reader sees them.
- Reading time at 200 words per minute, and speaking time at 130 words per minute. The latter is useful for YouTube scripts and speeches.
Common limits
- YouTube titles: 100 characters, but keep them under about 60–70 so they aren't cut off.
- Meta descriptions: about 150–160 characters.
- A 1-minute voice-over is roughly 130–150 words.
