Add Text / Watermark to Image

Add a caption, your brand name or a tiled watermark to any photo.

How to add text to an image

  1. Choose a photo.
  2. Type your text (up to 120 characters), such as a name, a date or © Your Brand.
  3. Set the size, opacity and colour, and pick a position or Tiled watermark.
  4. Check the preview and download.

How the text is sized

Size is a percentage of the image's shorter side, so it looks the same on small and large photos. The default 6% on a 4000 × 3000 photo gives text 180 pixels tall. Text is bold with a thin dark outline, so white text stays readable on light and dark areas alike.

Watermarking photos you share

Tiled watermark repeats the text diagonally across the whole picture, which is much harder to crop out than a corner mark. It's a good way to mark ID copies with their purpose ("For ABC Bank KYC only") or to protect product photos. Around 20–30% opacity keeps the picture visible.

Tips

  • Text is drawn with your device's fonts, so Hindi, Tamil and other scripts work where your device supports them.
  • The image keeps its size; PNGs stay PNG and other images are saved as high-quality JPG.
  • For classic meme captions, use the Meme generator; for PDFs, Watermark PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Will it reduce quality?

The image keeps its original size and is re-saved at high quality.

Can I use Hindi text?

Yes. Text is drawn with your device's fonts, so Hindi and other scripts work if your device supports them.

Is it private?

Yes. Nothing is uploaded.

Can someone remove the watermark?

A corner mark can be cropped off and any watermark can be painted over with effort. A tiled watermark across the whole image is the hardest to remove cleanly.
