Image Converter (JPG, PNG, WebP)

Convert images between JPG, PNG and WebP instantly and privately in your browser.

How to convert an image

  1. Choose an image. PNG files default to JPG output, and everything else to PNG.
  2. Pick the format you need: JPG, WebP or PNG.
  3. For JPG or WebP, adjust the maximum file size (200 KB to start), or clear it for no limit.
  4. Click Convert image and download.

Which format should I use?

  • JPG: photos, and almost every upload form. Small files, no transparency.
  • PNG: screenshots, logos, text and anything with a transparent background. Lossless, so files are larger for photos.
  • WebP: websites. It supports transparency and is usually smaller than JPG, but some older apps and many government portals don't accept it.

What changes when you convert

The picture keeps its width and height. For JPG and WebP, the tool keeps the highest quality (up to 95%) that fits your size limit; with the limit cleared it saves at 90%, visually very close to the original. Transparent areas become white in JPG. Phone photos are turned upright, and camera details and location in the original file aren't carried over.

Common conversions

  • WebP to JPG when a site or app won't accept an image you saved from the web.
  • PNG to JPG to make a large screenshot or photo small enough to email.
  • HEIC to JPG for iPhone photos, in Safari.

For TIFF files, use the TIFF converter; for icons, the ICO converter.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert WebP to JPG?

Choose the WebP file, select JPG as the output format and click Convert. The JPG downloads instantly and nothing is uploaded.

Can I convert iPhone HEIC photos?

Yes, in Safari on iPhone, iPad or Mac, which can read HEIC natively. In Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Android, use the HEIC to JPG converter, which brings its own decoder. You can also set iPhone Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible to shoot JPG directly.

What happens to transparent backgrounds?

JPG doesn't support transparency, so transparent areas become white. Choose PNG or WebP to keep transparency.

Will converting reduce quality?

Converting to PNG is lossless. JPG and WebP are saved at high quality (90–95% unless a small size limit forces lower), which looks the same for normal viewing; converting the same JPG again and again slowly adds loss, so keep your original.
