AI Image Upscaler & Enhancer

Make small images bigger and crisper, for prints, product listings, slides or wallpapers.

Runs on your device with your graphics chip; the image is never uploaded. The first run downloads the AI model (about 1 MB). Transparent areas become white.

How to upscale an image

  1. Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP image.
  2. Pick 2× or 4×, and PNG (best quality) or JPG (smaller file).
  3. Click Upscale. The first time, the AI model (about 1 MB) downloads; then it runs on your device.
  4. Download the enlarged image.

How AI upscaling differs from resizing

Normal resizing stretches pixels, so enlarged images look soft and blocky. An AI upscaler is a neural network trained on pairs of small and large photos; it predicts the edges and textures that fit, so the result looks sharper. This tool uses ESRGAN models from the open-source UpscalerJS project, running in your browser with TensorFlow.js.

Sizes

Output is limited to 4096 pixels on the longest side so it works on phones: 2× accepts images up to 2048 pixels, 4× up to 1024. An 800 × 600 photo becomes 1600 × 1200 at 2× or 3200 × 2400 at 4×. A 3000 × 2000 photo is first scaled to 2048 × 1365, then upscaled to 4096 × 2730.

Tips

  • Start from the best original you have; upscaling a screenshot of a photo loses more than upscaling the photo.
  • Faces and small text can come out smoothed. Check them at 100% zoom before printing.
  • Need an exact size afterwards? Use the Image resizer. To make the file smaller, use the Image compressor.

Frequently asked questions

Can it restore very blurry photos?

It sharpens edges and removes compression blocks, but it can't recover detail the camera never captured. It works best on images that are small rather than badly out of focus.

Is my image uploaded?

No. The AI model runs on your own device using your graphics chip, so the picture never leaves it.

Why is it slow on my phone?

Upscaling needs a lot of calculation. A 1000-pixel image at 2× takes seconds on a laptop and longer on phones; 4× is slower still. Keep the page open until it finishes.

Can I use the results commercially?

Yes, if you own the rights to the original image. The AI models used here are MIT-licensed.
